Udong near Phnom Penh

Udong is a village with 2 big pagodas about 45 km north of Phnom Penh.

The new and much bigger pagoda can be seen behind the old pagoda.

The new pagoda in Udong

This pagoda is fairly high, not easy to take this picture, it is not much open space on the hill.

The terrace in front of the new pagoda

A huge and wide, but very hot platform, which offers a great view in direction of Phnom Penh

In the background the small building contains bones and skulls of the victims of the genocide. Children do not know much about the horrible civil war almost 30 years ago.

Streets are often in very bad condition in all Cambodia.

Many children try to earn a little bit money selling something to visitors.

3 Cambodian boys with my motorcycle-driver

These 3 boys, 13 years old, are quite clever, they do their best to earn a little pocket-money for paying the school, by carrying luggage and selling drinks for the few foreigners, who are visiting this place.
