Buddhism in Thailand - some pictures

Chinese in South Thailand around Hadyai are often related to neighbouring Malaysia, but are either Buddhists or Christians. Hadyai has a huge Chinese presence, however outside the city many people are Muslim and related to the Malay. By car the Malaysian border is only 30 minutes away.

KWAN IM - looking in all directions with four faces

The statue of Kwan Im is a well-known place in the Municipality park of Hadyai. Many Chinese visitors are coming every day, praying for good luck.

Kwan Im is the Thai name for the Chinese goddess of mercy ‘GUAN-YIN’.
